Just a word on the wish list. MPM have just released a P39 in 1/32 scale. Uncanny or just good luck? You decide - I'm off to buy one.
We all know that Trumpeter has had a huge influence on large scale modelling, but it was Tamiya and Hasegawa who showed the way, offering great value wartime fighters and big jets. We could build in 1/32 scale for the next five years and only scratch the surface.

I've just ordered the Trumpeter Hellcat and the SBD-3 with the Big Ed set in 1/32, and I'll be adding photos on here of the progress.

Here are some photos of my recent builds. Both are Hasegawa with Aires cockpits and some Eduard additions. Anyone know who flew them?

Hi Phil! Its Daniel; the "Dornier and Messerschmitt guy".
I can tell you that Black 8 was flown by Lt (later Major) Werner Schroer of Jagdgeschwader 27. He finshed the war with 110 victories - all against the Western Allies. Scoring 100 victories against the W.A was considered a huge achievement. Erich Hartmann said a kill against them was worth three on the eastern front. Only five German aces scored over 100 kills against the W.A. 106 scored over 100 kills overall, another 8 scored 200+ and 2 scored 300+. I hope this helps.

Hi Daniel, you certainly know your stuff! Very accurate indeed. North Africa is obviously a favourite of yours, it's certainly one of mine. Thanks for taking the time to pass this on.
Your 'Star' will be ready soon, you can see it taking shape on here.
